Complete Candidate Comparison

4 min read

As voters make their decision this election season, it's important they know who they are voting for and the difference between the candidates. Below is a comparison of school board candidates, C.J. Cohick (YES vote) vs. Monica Garcia (NO vote) and Ralph Munoz (YES vote) and his opponent, Karen Davis (NO vote). As you will see, the choice is clear, vote C.J. Cohick for school board, and vote Ralph Munoz for city council.

School Board: C.J. Cohick vs. Monica Garcia

C.J. Cohick's opponent, Monica Garcia, would love for the Glendora community to forget the below facts, but we won't let that happen.

Here are 5 reasons (and yes.. there are more) why Monica Garcia must be a NO vote.

1. Monica Voted Against Parental Rights: Monica voted NO on the Glendora's Parental Rights Policy (10/9/23).

2. Monica Tried to Hide CRT (Critical Race Theory) in Ethnic Studies: At the GUSD Board meeting on 5/12/25, she championed an Ethnic Studies course outline that contained CRT. Yet she attempted to deceive voters by stating she would keep CRT out of Glendora schools when she was campaigning. Her exact promise from the campaign was "I will be diligent in reviewing the adopted curriculum to make sure CRT is not part of our Ethnic Studies courses." Promises made.. promises broken. Monica will deceive for a vote. See campaign post from 2022 below.

3. Monica Participated in an Anti-ICE Student Led Walk Out: Garcia participated in the student walkout against ICE (2/6/26) while also acknowledging that something needed to be done about chronic absenteeism in GUSD. Many of the students waved obscene signs and shouted obscenities at Glendora residents driving by. Three days later at the GUSD Board Meeting, she proclaimed, "I am proud of them"...some of us [parents] got markers for our kids to make these signs." (See picture below. Monica is below the yellow arrow)

4. Monica is Ashamed of the American Flag: "I have found myself cringing when I see the flag" she posted on her Facebook account. In this same post she claimed you are "far right" if you display the flag on your cars or clothing, want freedom of choice with vaccines, or are anti-CRT. See post below.

5. Monica Supports Woke Ideology Groups: Garcia helped start "Glendora Families for Social Justice", a social media group where she agreed (as stated on their page) "prioritizing BIPOC (Black, Indigenous People of Color) voices over white voices". In addition, the statewide progressive PAC known as The Six PAC, lists Garcia amongst its 2022 school board "victories". The PAC describes itself as "supporting progressive Dem candidates". See screenshot of the groups post below.

Why C.J?

  1. CJ SUPPORTS PARENTAL RIGHTS

• If something important happens to a child at school, parents have the right to know.

• All children have merit & CJ will not elevate one group’s voices over another.

• He will build community trust - not division.

2 HE IS TRAINED TO SOLVE COMPLEX PROBLEMS

• MBA, University of Oxford (2017)B.S. in Mathematics & Economics, Wheaton College

• Why it matters: Budgets and long-range planning demand someone who can read the numbers and weigh hard trade-offs.

• CJ brings that discipline to the Board.

3 CJ UNDERSTANDS THE AI SHIFT COMING TO OUR SCHOOLS

• As an AI product developer, CJ knows where Ai is headed and how it will reshape

learning for our kids, whether we welcome it or not.

• To thrive in that world, students will need strong character and a solid education.

4 HE BRINGS FRESH SOLUTIONS TO DECLINING ENROLLMENT

• Fewer students means fewer dollars for every classroom. CJ treats this as a problem

to solve, not a trend to accept.

• His plan is to make GUSD a beacon for all Glendora families, including those who

homeschool or choose private school.

5 CJ KEEPS CHARACTER AT THE CENTER

• GUSD promises to develop “Knowledge, Skills & Character.” CJ will

hold every decision to that promise

• When a program, budget line or policy comes before the Board, he will ask: “Does this help form kids of character or does it just move them through?”

• He will honor character the same way we celebrate sports and academic championships.

***The choice is abundantly clear.***

City Council: Ralph Munoz vs. Karen Davis

RALPH MUÑOZ

KAREN DAVIS

1. LEGAL & DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE Attorney , Business Owner

Ralph has hands-on residential & commercial development experience. Experience dealing with contracts, permitting, infrastructure, regulations and complex negotiations.

20+ YEARS IN ELECTED OFFICE Pastor, Council member since 2005

Karen's professional and public-service background is different from Ralph's legal, business and development experience.

2. INFRASTRUCTURE & ACCOUNTABILITY

Ralph will demand measurable results on our streets, sidewalks, infrastructure and commercial development and hold City leadership accountable for how taxpayer dollars are spent.

KAREN'S RECORD

After more than 20 years on the Council, Karen has failed in improving our infrastructure, commercial areas and City services.

3. PROBLEM SOLVING & RESULTS

Ralph built a successful law practice by identifying problems, dealing with adversaries, negotiating solutions and producing results. His approach: identify the problem, develop the solution, execute and measure the results.

KAREN'S RECORD

Karen has a track record approving tax payers dollars on studies, consultants & the status quo .City government has repeatedly utilized studies, consultants and outside professionals. I believe taxpayers should judge those expenditures by the measurable results they produced.
